Just came to SMX East in NYC and stopped by the Zvents booth. Never heard of Zvents before, but discovered that they're the back-end of my local newspaper in Connecticut - the Connecticut Post. Interesting use of events to advertise local businesses. Definitely a wise and cheap alternative to the print ads you find in newspapers, which cost an arm and a leg!

Interesting way to position what the company is doing but it isn't the social element that makes Zvents so amazing. Sure you can find events and nearby restaurants. I envision Zvents' model being the future of online local advertising; that is, as a small business owner, we buy ads to promote seminars. I can't do that efficiently or effectively online because websites aren't like spot buys in a newspaper. Zvents changes the game, because I can immediately distribute my seminars throughout the internet reaching only local customers. 5 stars!

There are a few reasons I keep coming back to Zvents: the intuitive user interface, the vast amount of excellent local music events, and the relevant search results. I also appreciate how it shows restaurants nearby the event that I'm planning to attend. It's invaluable for finding things to do on the weekend, and it's especially helpful when friends come into town and I need to find some way to entertain them.

Zvents is the coolest way to connect with anything that's happening where I live, or where I visit. Whenever I want to know about any place to go or what's happening in my town-- even on my block! -- or when I'm in another city, I check out what I like to do on Zvents. Local search just didn't exist before Zvents....now, I always know where to find the things I want to do and meet the people who like what I like. Last week I found an antique jewelry event I would never have known about....this while I was traveling....just pulled out my phone while strolling around town aimlessly, did a local search with Zvents, and I was there....had dinner locally at a great spot we found through Zvents with some people I met at the event. We all love antique watches. I wouldn't have met my new friends or own a great classic Gruen, if I didn't have Zvents!
